Welcome to Dixie!

Summer 2014

 Dear Dixie Elementary School Families:

The school year has come to a conclusion! Congratulations to our graduating class of 2014! I want to again extend my thanks to everyone in the Dixie Community, which includes, the Dixie Home and School Club, Site Council, Dixie Connect, Can Do!, and the outstanding Dixie Staff. Together we became a California Distinguished School for 2014!

We wish retiring teachers, Joan Kozlowski and Kathy Hopkins, exciting adventures, laughter, health and happiness! Retirement best wishes are also extended to special education instructional assistant, Adrianne Pollera. We also say goodbye to office assistant extraordinaire and kindergarten instructional assistant, Kristina McGuinness. Her DUE DATE approaches and all the adventures of parenthood await. (Please remember that you will be considered part of the Dixie School Family and we thank you for the difference you made!)

To the entire Dixie School Community (Students, Staff and Parents), I hope you enjoy the summer break with adventures, relaxation and rejuvenation. Be sure to read a few great books, listen to some music, and do something kind for others and the planet. Look for a DixiE-Newsletter in mid-August highlighting some of the exciting changes at Dixie School for next year!

The Dixie School Office will be closed beginning June 20th and will re-open on August 11th. If you have questions that cannot wait please contact the Dixie District Office at 492-3700 for assistance. Look for welcome back school packets in your mailboxes by mid-August. We’ll have our Kinder Play Date on August 20th at 10:00am. Also on that date is “Meet the Teacher” time for all grades from 11:00am to noon. The first day of school for all students is Thursday, August 21st. Both August 21st and 22nd are early dismissal (1:25pm) days. (Please note that the Kindergarten day ends at 11:50am until September 22nd.)
